Another slice of life story that follows a couple who have trouble connecting with one another. She keeps him at arms lenght emotionally, unable or unwilling to allow him any closer.
He, for his part, refuses to accept this arrangement and tries to impress her with his quick wit and biting sense of humor. They do connect on this level for a time but again she keeps them apart.
11:11 is the only time the four numbers on the clock are the same. According to you can make a wish at this time. Does it come true?
Steve has written a story that chronicles faithfully a relationship that would test the patience of a saint. Nevertheless the reader is cheering for the determined fellow. At least the guys are.
Is this the tale of a relationship that is doomed? They seem to communicate mostly by phone. That in itself doesn't mean much in this communication age except it keeps the distance there.
A short story with a lot of angst squeezed in. It's 11:11, I wish I knew what their names were.
