Study of Her is a wonderful look at the two choices in life that we have- to succeed or die. But it's more than that. It's also a study of being unable to help those who have seemingly taken the wrong path.

This work is wonderfully descriptive in it's contrasts between someone full of hopes and dreams and someone who has fallen into street life and drugs. The author has taken the time to paint a picture of a young woman full of promise and somehow taken in by the lure of something better and yet has ended up with nothing. Her friend, Julie can do nothing to help her but watch her waste away to nothing. The descriptions of Angela are wonderful as well as the things around her. What I find best is the the huge contrast between the confident Angela and the completely dependent one.

Although this seems just a surface memory in the mind of Julie, it is a somewhat painful reminder of how the choices we make in our lives affect everything about us. A definate good read!
