To Forget

This story of a man caught in a tragic nightmare after a car crash is unable to be forgotten. Also not to be forgotten are the descriptive flashes he has between confusion and despair. Nor is the pain he feels with every step back to reality to be forgotten.

The fertile nature of this work is two fold. First, this work captures the true feeling of what life is like five minutes after something hideously tragic has happened in someone's life. Something so foul and mind bending that it is hard to distinguish between what is real and what is not. With each descrptive sentence, the reader is able to see and feel- almost to touch the man who is trying to find his way home. Second, this work shows the deep and abominable circumstances surrounding this sort of occurance. This man remembers everything good and wonderful in his life from childhood to the present and at the end although he isn't dying, he has found his way to the horribly ugly crossing in the street that is his home.

I feel this story for the above reasons deserves a Highly Commended award.
