Holding pattern

Hey, we've all done it: watched a pair of shapely calves (legs, not cows) walk up a flight of stairs in front of us; stared at a beautiful mane of hair toss in the breeze; watched a trim/muscular suit get into her/his limo or sports car and drive away. I assume that being voyeuristic is an intrinsic human quality, and that getting caught being a voyeur, is an intrinsic fear.

Ian Lester's unfortunate character gets caught being human by someone not so appreciative of his inherent fallibility. Through the sheer mundaneness of this character's life, Lester stirs us to compassion.

I liked this story. My criticism of it is of the weight of detail given to business particulars of the character's trip. I'm not sure how they contribute. The way the story ends also leads me to question whether this story is a romance or a fantasy. Just kidding, Ian. I guess the rest of you will have to read it and decide for yourselves.
