This story is set on a rainy autumn night. Two men go from an innocent encounter, to becoming very important in each other's life. The writer shows us, quite well, how easy it is to judge others, to overlook and even criticize another's problems, until they are our own.
Through vivid imagery, the reader is transported into this rainy night with the two main characters. The setting and the premise are ripe with meaning; I commend the author for picking such a valuable and difficult subject. On the craft side, the author might want to consider getting the meeting between the two men to happen sooner, and placing some of the beginning descriptions among the dialogue. Also, the author might want to consider placing the most important clues at the end of the story, and most innocent and general ones up front, to heighten the surprise. Keep up the good work, Ken. I would like to see more.
