Invisible
"Invisible" invites the reader to speculate into a time and social structure so regimented and bizarre one may begin doubt if individuality is a realistic dream for the future. Drinnan's ability to transport us into the minds of her two characters is good, and the her vivid disciptions deliver fitting setting and mood.
The problem I had with this piece was the uncertainty of the cause for the distress of her characters. There is the perception of danger and manipulation, but I was unable to derive the root of it. For my tastes it is too vague. It feels as though it is a portion of something much bigger, but a portion without enough substance. I am curious, though, and if I am right about this piece being only a segment, I want to see more.
