A Kind Word
This piece is a terrific view into the mind of a man set on suicide. He is still, up to the last methodically planned second, looking for "a kind word". Whether the words he does receive, real or imagined, are enough or not is left to the readers imagination.
The dark tone of this piece sets the background for the inner hurt of David. For whatever reasons David has decided to commit suicide. Brilliant writing such as " The crimson sky had started turning dark and the first star found its way upon the canvas before him." give the detail necessary to bring to life the absolute despair he is feeling. In the end, the reader is left with a chilling question, "Did he or didn't he?"
This piece is a perfect short story and would highly recommend to the author that publication of it (for money) be sought.
