The story could have been titled "Life in the Looking Glass". Three generations grow up using the looking glass and it mirrors the life of humanity. It enlarges the important things in life and shrinks the inconsequential matters out of sight.

Janice takes a seemingly vain piece of decoration and brings out the beauty of everyday family life.

At first I thought the father was doing the reflecting on the family and a little later it seemed to be the daughter. This might have been possibly my own misreading but overall the story was well done. The life of three generations enlarged in the looking glass of life will bring a knowing smile to many and a warm feeling of remembrance. Thanks, Janice.
