Boy yearns for girl. Boy rescues girl from ratbag. Boy gets girl. Boy and girl get married. Boy turns into ratbag. Boy and girl get divorced. Boy is ashamed of himself and thinks he deserves his self-generated misery, and even spares a thought for girl. Sad story. Not sure I'd classify it as romance.
Josh has done well with this story. It does not suffer so much from the inconsistencies in the story line that have plagued a lot of his stories. I think this particular effort demonstrates Josh's knack of showing emotion in a story. The negative, for me, was that there is a lot of use made of 'overworked phrases', some of which suffer from ambiguous construction that spoils the mood (eg. 'our eyes met, locked, and became one').
Worth a read. Josh is definitely developing as a writer.
