Regret
This is a story of two lives that are like two ships that share the same pier but in reality are like ships passing in the night.
Mark reminisces years down the road of "the woman that would be his life" and has been for ten years and yet he has regret.
His regret is for Ingrid's inability to leave the love she has for another, a love which was never returned.
Finally it comes down to a choice of two regrets. One based on the past and the other based on the present.
The author carries the reader through choices, many of which people face everyday. Most relationships carry with them baggage or regrets from poor choices made in the past.
This story will leave nagging doubts about regret but despite being a portrait in black is interesting, nonetheless.
