She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

"She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" is the story of a hilarious high school romance. The object of Damen's affection, Alyson, is described as "a short girl with purple hair", and their relationship gets off to a bit of a rocky start.

The story is set in a small-town high school, and having gone to one, I can say that it is very accurately rendered. And this is not, by any means, a sappy love story, there is enough humour and conflict to make for very interesting reading. The dialogue is believable (I especially liked the teacher with the "no babbling" rule) and the story moves along quite well.

Stylistically, I would suggest to the author to watch the use of "ly" adverbs, sometimes a better description would make the story more thoughtful, "ly" adverbs are often the easy way out of doing the real work.

I was told that the author is sixteen, but that hasn't had any bearing on my review, it is, nonetheless, a funny and ultimately satisfying story.
