As a diary entry piece this is an easy read, though I kept wondering when the actual story was going to begin. This is a good and interesting idea but it is not supported by the characters or the scene setting. I understand the writer was quite young when this was written (10yrs) and I will say now that I am impressed. What would be interesting would be to see this piece re-written now using what knowledge of writing she has gained over the last few years. Unfortuantely, reviewing old pieces is of little help to the author. In many cases the author has already grown or improved in style and construction and many comments made now would be meaningless or even pointless.

A simple, easy read. Suitable more for a juvenile audience but interseting just the same.
