Time Stoppers

Time Stoppers is a very imaginative tale about what transpires when a watch is broken. The writer of this tale is only 10 years old and she writes wonderfully. She seems to have a great grasp of the structure of a true short story and is constantly improving. She thinks of things that us adults threw to the wind years ago and uses them as plots and ideas for her stories. In this aspect she is one up on us, and if she keeps that imagination going, she will be a great novelist someday.

The story is imaginative, fun, humorous, and kept my interest. The plot is something I would have never thought of and it worked in the context of the story.

There are a lot of improvements to be made such as spelling and punctuation, and I wondered why she got grounded the first time and then was telling her mother about the watch after her bath...I thought she broke it before..this confused me. Then there is the 7 miles in which she slept every hour...in a bus it would only take a few minutes to go 7 miles. But these are the trademarks of a young writer and to truly see how well she has done since she started, you must go to the archives and read some of her other works. Clare, I would say check and double check that spelling...there were several mistakes. Reread your work then have someone else reread it to let you know if there are any parts that seem not to go with the story, and last but not least...KEEP WRITING!!! You are doing a great job and improving with every story!!
