Time's Up
There is still magic in the world and Alex and Betsey find it. Playing in the attic they get themselves transported back to Medieval England. Betsey gets the royal treatment and Alex something else. I'm not going to say any more and give the whole story away.
There are a few typos, but they're easily ignored. The story is a fun read. A light and cheerful fantasy.
The two main characters are well developed. Their interactions between one another were convincing.
The dialogue in the medieval bit was a little annoying. In comic fantasy the dialogue is normally contemporary. The attempt at medieval conversation read as forced and contrived. Adding th to the end of words and using thee instead of you just isn't convincing. The king also neglected to use the royal pronoun. Monarchs always use we and our when referring to themselves.
The king should have cried 'Where is our jester' not 'Where is my jester'.
A minor and easily fixed flaw, but one that will nag avid readers of fantasy.
All in all pleasant fantasy worth reading for a quick chuckle.
