Zeke is about to turn forty. And we all know what happens to men when they turn forty. That mid-life one last fling becomes irresistible.
Zeke is a likeable character. His adventure with the "80 horsepower penis" is told in a way that breathes life into the cliche. He struggles with the decision, and by the time he buys the Harley, the reader understands why.
This story starts a bit slowly. Possibly it could start with the sentence "In this fantasy, Zeke was riding..." Some of the explanation of finances is unnecessary. It takes some of the power from Zeke's fantasies, and they are by far the more interesting aspect of the story. Zeke's ambivalence over the purchase is demonstrated very nicely by the scene with his wife in the kitchen, this could take the place of the list of options.
I know that the other list of four options is important, in the crucial scene with the motorcycle, but I wonder if Zeke would really have much time to make lists...
All in all, a good read, especially in the more dramatic moments.
