Hodges and Stevens are off to Reagan 4, a distant planet named for a forgotten Earth politician. Accompanying them is a small fluffy being whose presence will prove most helpful, although not in a way they would suspect.
I enjoyed this story, there is a fun narrative tone, and I always like it when characters don't take themselves too seriously. They come off as more human, unless they are being used to feed jokes, but that's not the case here. I'm wondering (after also reviewing I Hate History) if it is an Australian thing to run dialogue without very many commas, if so I apologize, as a hick Canadian, but the sentence (from the story): "It's not a person you know" has a different meaning to: It's not a person, you know."
I liked the build-up to the discovery that the humans on Reagan 4 were not what they seemed, it was handled with skill and the same humor found throughout. Some of the lines made me laugh, especially the scene with Hodges in the bath. The ending is good, too, but I won't give it away.
