Ignorance is Bliss

Stories of vengeance are rarely good when put forth in such short length. Character development often needs more time to properly get inside either characters psyche. In this case the brevity of the story had the opposite effect. Almost before you could catch your breath it was over.

And whether or not you pulled for the good girls or the bad guy the end was there with nary a word to spare. It is always gratifying to see a fleecer of humanity being fleeced. This may not happen as often in this life as we'd like to see so if we must have it in a short story then this is as good a one as any.

The twist at the end was a classic one but very fitting, Pieter. Greediness blinded the fellow to the trap about to spring shut. Time for a cup of cheer to celebrate a fine story.
