"Into the Next Life" was a most exceptional story! Excellent. It tells of a woman who now enjoys the silence after-- I'm guessing a divorce, with her 'husband?' The story is told from the woman's point of view and she tells us how much she despises him and how could he do this and how dare him, yadda yadda yadda. Well it winds up in the end that she is carrying his BABY unexpectedly. She begins to feel the labor pains and her water breaks and the last few moments before she leaves, she thinks, "it will look like him." Of course she hates him, so it leaves the readers thinking......what will she do with it? She mentions suicide of she knew that she was pregnant....
I don't, however, understand what "The Next Life" is she mentions.....is it death? There were only a few problems I had with it and they were: the characters could have had names and the narrator could have cut back a lot on using the word 'him' so much. I'm glad to grant the author the quill for "Into the Next Life" anyway!
