Musicians Prose
Musician's Prose, by Janice Farnsworth, is a gentle story about a man's search for love and support while he tentatively seeks the fulfilment of his life- long dream. It explored a world very familiar to me, as in the past I have hovered frighteningly between the personality traits of both the Anne and Kris characters.
There were some nice moments of description which explained things in a way I would not have thought of, and showed the author's unique way of looking at things.
Again, if there is any criticism, it is that the story (and I hope people understand where I am coming from) could either be shorter to express the points more succinctly overall, making sure to give even attention to every incident in the story, or longer, if the author chose to detail some incidents in more detail and make it a much 'bigger' story. At the moment, the first 3/4 of the story moves through time quite slowly and then rushes off the last two paragraphs for a tied up ending, when the information in the last two paragraphs was actually quite important and perhaps warranted more telling.
I loved the title of this piece and the poetic quality and rhythm in some of the language in this story.
