Naked
There are times in life when you come across someone familiar in an unfamiliar setting, and sometimes the shock is enough to change your relationship with that person. This is what happens in Naked. Patrick, a schoolteacher, goes to a peepshow and finds one of his students, Maria, on the other side of the window.
Patrick and Maria have what may well be their first real conversation. Each finds out things about the other that are surprising and personal. There is less telling in this story than in some of Tom Dwyer's others, and the conversation flows well. Maria's speech is perhaps a little too colloquial, it sometimes seems a bit awkward, maybe Tom would consider cleaning up her speech a little so that she is not so much of a cliche. Patrick calls her the brightest student in his English class, and the contrast between smart, ambitious girl/peepshow babe would be more apparent. Although the line where Patrick tells her "don't say ain't" is a classic...
There is plenty of room to go over the top with this story, and although Maria's naked state is dealt with honestly, neither character emerges degraded. A good story, all in all.
