t stands thirty times larger than the Empire State Building, so large, it can be seen from the moon. The six sides have near perfect right angles and when applied to geometry, it is a perfect square circle or pi, amazingly accurate to six digits. The Great Pyramid of Giza, built some 4,600 years ago, is the sole remnant of The Seven Wonders of the World.
escending the half spiraling series of steps and through a strategy of subterranean vaults and crypts, Adam finally paused as he inhaled odors captured and hidden, way too long. A lifetime of archeological exploration including a decade on his thesis alone, was behind him. In front of Adam, the priceless and brilliant treasures of Pharaoh lay neatly arranged over what appeared to be about an acre of the pyramid. Treasure, was only a portion of the spectacle. Hand carved and painted wooden miniature soldiers stood guard perhaps numbering in the thousands. Small replica prized sailing vessels of the day were completed with miniature oarsmen and captains. Farms, thousands of head of cattle, stys full of pigs, chickens, and shepherds were all present in their tiny forms. Details not forgotten, even slaves chained together perhaps totaling 10,000 were ready for Pharaohs second life. There was also cookware, weapons, utensils, and harvests of food, small in size, yet ever present for the day when needed. Adam stood overwhelmed by his amazing discovery. All this behind, only, the statue of Osiris, Judge of the dead, Lord of Divine Law, and the Guarantor of continued existence, in the afterlife.
My thesis is proven, there is no afterlife, Adam said while facing Osiris. Indeed, it all remains. If Pharaoh came back to life, how come he didnt take all his prized treasures and property, with him?, Adam questioned Osiris. Deep laughter was joined by Adams repetitive gestures, my thesis proven, my thesis proven, no afterlife, no afterlife. One would almost accuse Adam of being mad in his attempts at taunting a mere statue, when his able assistant and recent bride, Lynn walked in. She had finished much of Adams research with help of her MIT software engineering degree. She brought the project under her wing using advanced technology and her advanced IQ. Not amazed, but as ever a professional, Lynn walked up to the statue of Osiris and scanned an image of hieroglyphics into her laptop. It says, You have to have heart, Lynn told Adam. She continued on her way assailing her keyboard with inventory, measurements, scanned images, and more.
Adam, with smile still on face, examined items with more intensity, now. He wandered away from Lynn and started to examine a mummys tomb. It was empty and when stepping inside, Adam could make out, more hieroglyphics. His lifes work, Adam could cut through translations faster than any who did not have computer aides. To all entombed, afterlife, but you have to have heart - Osiris, Adam read. Atleast he thought he read but was becoming somewhat oozy while noting the caskets door fully closed. He tried to read all the words on the inside and closed the door a little too much. Air was immediately used up, and Adams last breaths were used on concentrating on the image of Osiris. Osiris seemed to come to life, and Adam thought he now saw Moses, then Noah, then Mohammed, then Jesus. All at once, Osiris seemed to be all Gods, or are all Gods really one? Adam pondered this last question and quietly passed away. Lynn returned when she heard the casket fall over and hit the ground. The door freed from the fall and half opened enough to expose Adams limp body. Lynn rushed over to Adam and screamed with tears as she realized her husband of less than twelve months, was now dead.
ynn was startled to hear more movements within the pyramid. She picked up her heavy head and with swollen eyes looked toward the statue of Osiris. If not a dream, then what? Lynn saw Osiris come to life. The very same shifting from one heroic person, prophet, to Jesus took place in front of her eyes. They seemed to arrive back at a living Osiris. A baboon type figure that Lynn recognized as Thoth stood nearby Osiris. Finally, a King buried with a heart, Osiris said aloud. Mummy embalmers of the day, removed all organs and after 4,600 years, Osiris now had his chance. He looked toward Lynn saying nothing, and walked over to Adam. Horrified, Lynn witnessed Osiris reach through Adams chest and take out his heart. With the Hall of Judgment as a balanced scale, Osiris placed Adams heart on one side, countered by the feather of truth, on the other side. Thoth witnessed that the scale stood exactly even and recorded the event. Osiris winked at Thoth and smiled at Lynn. Osiris then placed Adams heart back in his chest.
Suddenly, Lynn heard a cough, then two, then three. A sneeze and a spit later, Adam was, born again. Lynn was laughing or crying or both. She was so overjoyed at the return of her husband. Adam remembered his last breath and when he saw a real life Osiris and Thoth in front of him, Adam realized what had just happened. Adam said to Osiris, what next? and Osiris replied heaven. Lifting up the pedestal that he stayed frozen on the last 4,600 years, Osiris shouted, transformation! Thoth laughed at the long awaited event and saw computer screens, radar, maps of the heavens, and more 21st century type of navigation aides pop up through the opening of the pedestal. Adam stood hugging Lynn and witnessed the acre large room transforming into some futuristic space craft. Liftoff was a sight to behold as the pyramid first starting shaking, then rumbling, and finally pulling away from the ground and earth. Space travel of the Gods was quick as compared to human time and in less then one day, the space craft landed on Heaven.
Adam talked with Osiris freely now and was almost cursing at him. Lynn tried to control Adams temper but to no avail. This planet has only soil and water, Adam told Osiris. What kind of ever afterlife is this?, Adam shouted out loud. When temper overcame Adam he yelled at his wife, Evelyn, where are you? right here, said Eve and hated when Adam used her rather proper, Evelyn. Finally Adam cracked when thinking of eternity on Heaven, with his poor wife Lynn who deserved none of this. She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. All four, exited the pyramid spacecraft two with tears and two with smiles.
Osiris looked over the world and winked toward Thoth. The pyramid erupted with noise, clatter, and sounds only a few decibels lower than a teenager party. Out of the pyramid marched the first wave of real life soldiers, four by four, saluting Adam and Lynn as they passed by. Future waves marched out all saluting, with smiles. In moments a platoon of soldiers was out of the pyramid, and a little later, an entire company. In between the soldiers, slaves chained together carried out food, utensils, and treasures. Cattle, pigs, chickens, and shepherds followed next too innumerable to count. Further waves of soldiers and slaves past by until battalions of men stood ready in assembly. Roars from the crowd were heard when a thousand slaves each, pushed one, then two huge wooden ships out of the pyramid. They placed them in the nearby water of Heaven, with captains ready to command the oarsmen, on the Kings word. Osiris informed Adam and Evelyn that these subjects and properties are theirs. King Adam faced the crowd and screamed his first order, all slaves are now free. The crowd was thrilled and yelled long live the King, long live the Queen, long live the King, long live the Queen. Osiris winked at Thoth and told him that their work was done here and the pair needed to return to earth. Smiling, as they entered the spacecraft for the journey to earth, Osiris was happy that all were born or born again, and was pleased to start his first Heaven, with Adam and Eve.
