"Picky Picky" is the story of a young boy who can't make up his mind on two certain young ladies he finds attractive. The author goes through in descriptive details about how he flirts with them and plays idiotic games to win their hearts. In the end, he must really choose which girl to 'like' when he plays a joke on them. The joke is this-- being that he is the school mascot, he plans to dress up in the massive, heavy and hot get-up and run out onto the feild looking like an idiot, then he is to drop to the ground, throwing off his fake head making it look like he was having a heat stroke. When the two girls came over to see if he was ok, he would then choose which one he liked by their actions.
I found the story to be quite boring, honestly. It reminded me of several journal entries. The actions and dialouge were very unbelievable and boring. I would think a girl would scream or something when a boy wraps his arm around her waist for the first time! I also doubt that the entire class would fall asleep during Social Studies and the teacher not say a word.I find this vision VERY overused. The names of the two girls the narrator likes are out of this world! Did you throw a pan across the room and name your characters by what the sound of the pan made? :-)
On the other hand, it was well plotted and stretched to the best of its abilities-- but sometimes I find patronization frightening...
