The President

In the year 2067 time travel is possible and one citizen takes it upon themself to take a trip to warn President Kennedy of his impending death at the hands of Lee Harvey Oswald.

This is a familiar tale that tackles the possibilities of time travel. Although I find the concept a potentially intriguing topic this story failed to inspire me. The logistics involved with writing a successful time travel tale are far more complicated than the author suggests. There was too much left to explore to make this story credible.

I was left with too many questions. Why Kennedy? Surely Hitler would be on the top of everyone's list! Can everyone travel back in time at a whim? Imagine the chaos!! Time travel available to all and sundry. I know I'd be back to repeat that last university exam or take back any number of stupid mistakes I've made during my life. I fear that with the scenario set up by our author there would be so many people hopping about past centuries there would be nobody left to live the present.

And what of the repercusions? I don't think I have ever read a story based on time travel that did not at least acknowledge the affects of altering the past. I have now.

I don't think the author took this story very seriously (at least I hope not) but to write a story based on time travel takes a lot of effort and preparation. You really need to cross those t's and dot those i's or it simply won't work. I would suggest that if the author is simply trying their hand at putting words on paper/wp they might start with a simple subject that does allow for a free flowing narrative without complications.
