Short Christmas

Here's a happy little story of a meek person with an unlikely and uncouth fairy godparent or two who help her to inherit the earth. It is unrealistic, derivative, overflowing with corny repartee and author intrusion, inconsistent and a delightful read. Except for suggesting that people have lived their entire lifetimes in a hotel for old pensioners, all the rest is forgivable (although the author shouldn't make a habit of it).

I smiled my way through this story, and all SSC readers who haven't done so should give it a try.
