The Only Thing Different

Oh, Allah, I hope this story is not autobiographical, because what I am about to say of the character is not kind.

In ernest, I must say I felt much pity for the character portrayed in this modest piece. To be so delusional about the love you have for a man whose eyes you have met on occasion - never a word exchanged - and who you are not even sure you recognize after some months, is truly sad.

We are left to guess whether this is the same man the character makes eye contact with at the beginning of the story. We are left to guess where her love is, the supposed REAL person in her life, and why he ignores her so. We are left to wonder if this woman imagines everything, and can not differentiate fact from fantasy. I am betting she can not. And if I am right about this character, and about this story - then bravo! If not - I guess I am stumped.
